Jinan, China – The academic symposium "China-Africa Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Modernization from the Perspective of Area Studies" was successfully convened at the University of Jinan from June 27 to 28.

The event was guided by the Regional Culture Research Committee of the Chinese Society for Comparison of Chinese and Foreign Languages and Cultures. It was hosted by the University of Jinan and organized by the African Study Center of University of Jinan, School of Foreign Languages, the AU Countries Research Center of Shandong Aviation University, and Shandong Aviation University's School of Foreign Languages.

Supporting publishers and institutions included Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, Fudan University Press, Tsinghua University Press, Jinan New Oriental Education & Technology Group Co., Ltd., and Shandong Lansi Education Technology (Group) Co., Ltd. The symposium attracted over 200 experts and scholars from more than 70 institutions nationwide.
