The Confucius Institute at Community College of Denver, the U.S., is jointly established by University of Jinan, China and Community College of Denver, the U.S.
The opening ceremony of the institute was held on September 27th, 2014 at Community College of Denver during the visit of the delegation from University of Jinan, led by Prof. Fan Yuejin, Chairman of University Council.
With the concerted efforts of Community College of Denver and University of Jinan, the Confucius Institute at Community College of Denver has achieved satisfactory outcomes in language teaching and cultural activity organization. It has set Chinese as the credit course in the College and promoted the distinctive project including Chinese medicine and cuisine. In 2015, the total registered students in the Confucius Institute is 64. This year the Confucius Institute has hosted 236 cultural events and the total number of participants is over 6,400, which was often reported by the local media and brought wide and positive effect. By now 2 students from the U.S. have successively studied in University of Jinan awarded Confucius Institute Scholarship by Hanban. 1 delegation including 16 teachers and students has visited China for short-term cultural experience with the support of Hanban. In addition, University of Jinan has sent 1 Chinese director to work at the Confucius Institute.
