Confucius Institute at Northern State University, the U.S.

The Confucius Institute at Northern State University, the U.S., is jointly established by University of Jinan, China and Northern State University, the U.S. The opening ceremony of the institute was held on October 10th, 2015 at Northern State University during the visit of the delegation from University of Jinan, led by Prof. Cheng Xin, President.

The Confucius Institute at Northern State University is the firstConfucius Institute in North and South Dakota, the U.S. It has actively promoted the Chinese language and culture teaching since its establishment and set Chinese as the credit course in the University. In addition to offering the only traditional university Chinese language courses in the state, the Confucius Institute is in the process of establishing and developing online courses for the university and E-Learning high school. In 2015 the Confucius Institute has hosted 14 cultural activities and the total participants amounted to 8300. 1 educator delegation including 11 people has visited China for short-term cultural experience with the support of Hanban. In addition, University of Jinan has sent 1 Chinese director and 1 teacher to work at the Confucius Institute. With the Confucius Institute serving as the platform, University of Jinan and Northern State University have actively conducted the faculty and student exchange, academic collaboration and achieved productive results.
