Recently, the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education issued a list of the first batch of projects in 2018, supported by enterprises concerned, on training students through industry-university cooperation. 47 projects proposed by University of Jinan (UJN) have been approved, with the number creating a new high in history.
The project on training students through industry-university cooperation was launched by the Ministry of Education under the guideline of two documents: Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Deepening the Education Reform of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Universities, and Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Deepening the Integration of Industry and Education. The project aims to integrate enterprise resources to support comprehensive reforms of institutions of higher learning on innovation and entrepreneurship.
The 47 projects approved by MOE were proposed by 10 schools of UJN. Among them, there are 10 projects from the School of Mechanical Engineering, 9 from the School of Information Science and Engineering, 6 from the School of Electrical Engineering and the School of Mathematical Science respectively, 5 from the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, 4 from Business School, 3 from the School of Physics and Technology, 2 from School of Education and Psychology, and 1 from the School of Literal Arts and Fine Arts respectively.
From the view of content and field of the research, the 47 projects covered all categories, including 2 projects on “new engineering construction”, 16 on “reform in the content and system of courses”, 10 on “teacher training”, 17 on “construction of practice conditions and bases”, as well as 2 on “Education Reform on innovation and entrepreneurship”.
UJN’s increasing number of approved projects demonstrates its efforts in promoting the idea of “training students through industry-university cooperation”, comprehensive reform and education on innovation and entrepreneurship. As one of the “First Batch of National Demonstration Universities for Deepening Education Reform on Innovation and Entrepreneurship” and “Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Base in Shandong”, UJN will take this opportunity to continue its industry-university cooperation with relevant enterprises. In accordance with the deployment and requirements of the Ministry of Education, UJN will also promote the implementation of the projects and encourage teachers to declare in the second batch in 2018. By strengthening cooperation, UJN will still promote the integration of industry and education, further promote the construction of new engineering and the reform of personnel training model, and improve the quality of personnel training.
