Recently, it was learned from the State Scholarship Fund Management Committee that the “Cultivation of Master International Students in Computer Science for Demands of Applied Innovative Talents in the Belt and Road Initiative” recommended by our university was approved by the “Silk Road” Chinese Government Scholarship for the 2018/2019 academic year. project. The School of Computer Science and Technology of our university has been granted 10 Chinese government scholarships.
The “Silk Road” Chinese Government Scholarship Program is an initiative to implement the “Vision and Action to Promote the Joint Construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road,” and the “Promotion of the ‘One Belt, One Road’ Education Initiative” The “Silk Road” study promotion plan was established in 2017 to establish special training for industry leaders and excellent skilled personnel for countries along the route. This is the first time that our school has been approved for this type of international student special Chinese government scholarship program. The approval of the project is another new breakthrough in the cultivation of international students in our school.
At present, the School of Information Science and Engineering has received 14 international master students from Indonesia, Tajikistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. Among them, 9 have received Chinese government scholarships, 2 have won government scholarships from Shandong Province, and 3 have obtained Jinan University President Scholarship. Students published many SCI international journal articles during their studies. At present, there have been three successful graduates. One of them graduated and went to Canada to pursue a doctoral degree. One student went to Australia to pursue a doctoral degree, and one student returned to serve as a university teacher.
